There's a big difference between change management and managing change, and the gap between 'experts' is quickly becoming more obvious. Firstly, there are those who learned a methodology, Prosci, PCI or otherwise, and stick closely to their process at all times. Then there are others who understand the process is a tool, and that you must use the right tool for the job, not necessarily all your tools, all at once.

Good change managers will recognise what must and should be done, rather than doing everything that could be done. If less is more, than this is especially true when it comes to the practice of change management.
